Dear Friends in the Faith,
Please pray about these recent events in our lives--
JOHN --
goes in for cataract surgery on Thursday morning. He's been having trouble with the vision in the right eye for some time and thought he just needed new glasses. The eye exam confirmed that his cataract had gotten worse and it was time. Please pray for the doctor and for John's speedy recovery as he has many church and diocesan responsibilities.
SUSAN--
begins teaching the second semester in the seminary with the "English for Groups" course and mentoring the women seminarians. This semester she will have help with the women as the Rev Julie Mudge will be joining her. We are looking forward to graduation in December for our first class in Lima. Please pray for wisdom as Susan ministers to these seminarians preparing for leadership within the diocese of Peru.
ROBERT--
made it back safely from the mission trip to Asia. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. He said it was fabulous and I hope to send out an update from him as soon as he gets it to me. He is currently beginning a new program with Rock the World called "Epicenter" where he is involved in a ministry leadership training program that will be about a year long. Please pray for this new step in Robert's life.
JAMES--
is back in California ready to begin his sophomore year at Chapman University. He went back early to help train people to work in the campus radio station. Please pray for a good work-study job and that James do well in his courses.
FINANCIAL--
We know that all of us have been hit by the financial crisis in the world, and we are no exception. Special thanks to those of you who prayed especially about this and for those who were able to respond to the special plea that SAMS sent out for us, it has made a difference. However, we are still quite short of our goal. The last two months, we have received only half our salary. If you are able to make a contribution, we will appreciate it. Please continue to pray about our financial situation.
I promise an update on teams, the search for suffragan bishops (bishops to help Bp Godfrey), Robert's Asia trip, Susan's "women" and happenings in our work here in Lima. The Lord is doing wonderful things here and we are so blessed to be a part of it.
Please know that we pray for you and how special you are in our lives. May God continue to bless and uphold you.
Blessings,
Susan for the family
