Dear All,
Here are the latest updates.
BISHOPS ELECTION--
The Diocese of Peru held its Diocesan Synod (like Diocesan Convention) on Friday and Saturday. Fr Michael Chapman (SAMS-USA) was elected and will serve as suffragan (assisting) bishop in Peru, pending approval of the Province of the Southern Cone. Neither John Macdonald nor John Park were elected. It was an honor that John was considered for bishop. However, when we came to Lima almost 6 years ago, we were called to minister to the Cathedral and this we shall continue to do.
We were blessed to have John and Gail Macdonald and Bp Frank Lyons stay with us during the synod. It was good to get together and talk about old times in Honduras and see what the Lord is doing in each of our lives.
--Praise God for a new bishop to help Bp Godfrey.
--Pray for Mike and Linda as they begin to make the transition to Peru and especially for Linda's language learning.
NEW WINESKINS/REMIX--
It's not too late to sign up for New Wineskins. April 1 is the cut-off. It's a dynamite time of sharing about mission around the world and what God is doing in many places. Great for networking and catching up. We will be there and hope to see some of you too!

Also for teens through 20s, there is Re-Mix with incredible music and a nationally known dynamite speaker, Jamie Winship, who wowed them at Urbana this year. I'm going to try to sneak away to see them!

--Praise God for the faithful witness of New Wineskins Missionary Community and Rock the World
--Pray for all the preparations that a conference of this size engenders.
--Pray for safe travel for all concerned, especially for the speakers who are coming from overseas.
EYES--
Susan went for her eye exam and found that her eyeball pressure was high (18 & 20) . The risk when the pressure is high is glaucoma. The doctor had her come back the next day for a field of vision test to see if it was killing off the nerve endings in her eyeball, which would be a sure indicator. Lots of prayer on Monday night and Tuesday until the appointment. While she didn't see all the points of light, there is no real problem with vision loss, praise God! The higher pressure seems to be due to thick corneas, but he wants her to check back every 6 months.
--Praise God there is no real problem with Susan's eyes
EXTRA PRAYERS PLEASE--
Please keep Susan's sister Elizabeth (Liz) in prayer. She had an emergency appendectomy on Thursday. She's supposed to be at New Wineskins to show people about her easy-to-use Webpages (No Teenager Necessary!) Right now, she is still recuperating at the hospital as they are trying to avoid the complications she had with a previous surgery.
--Praise God that Liz was able to get to the hospital in time and for the doctors who were able to operate so quickly.
--Pray for a swift recovery that she be back on her feet soon.
Fr Ron Robertson's pancreatic tumor has shrunk some more, he's gained a bit of weight, and he was able to begin a new round of chemo therapy this week. Things were looking better for him when he ended up in the emergency room Friday with severe chills and anxiety.
--Praise God for the continued progress in the fight against the cancer.
--Pray for strength for Vicki and Ron as they walk this road together.
--Pray for the doctors who minister to them that he may find relief and answers to the new symptoms that presented themselves.
HOME MINISTRY ASSIGNMENT--
Please pray as we prepare to leave so many responsibilities in the hands of others while we are away for more than three months visiting churches.
--Praise God for people who can take over some of our responsibilities.
--Pray that we are able to leave things in order with time being so short (We leave in a week!)
As always, please know that we pray for you and are so grateful for your prayers and support. We hope to see a number of you when we are in the US on Home Ministry Assignment starting in April.
Blessings,
Susan (for both of us)
