A delciious Peruvian drink! Chicha Morada
When we shop for the purple corn on the cob, you look for one that even has a purple cob, take off all the kernels, put the kernels and the cob in a pot of water along with some cinnamon stick, whole cloves, pineapple skins, and a fig leaf. Boil it for an hour and strain. Add more water and boil another half hour, then add sugar and lime to taste and serve at room temperature or cold. Peruvians often drink beverages at room temperature, even Coca-cola. Chicha is very rich in anti-oxidants.
